Drooping eyes
Your eyes are probably the facial feature which make the biggest impression on people you meet.
That’s why, if your eyebrows begin to droop and sag, if you get crowsfeet at the outer edges or ‘bunny lines’ at the top of your nose, your general appearance can alter quite dramatically. You can start to look older than you are, tired and even permanently sad.
It is important to distinguish between problems with drooping eyelids and the much more common problem of the skin around your eyes sagging and bagging or becoming heavily lined.
Droopy eyelids will probably need surgical treatment but problems with the surrounding skin tone are much easier to treat.
The causes of the problem are usually increasing age, over-exposure to the sun, too much alcohol, smoking and poor diet – and even facial habits like wrinkling up your eyes hard enough and often enough to make lines which once appeared only fleetingly gradually become permanent fixtures.
There are a number of treatments available, ranging from glycolic peels for lines and wrinkles to injections of a muscle-relaxant or dermal fillers like Restylane or Perlane for deeper lines. Our therapists and our cosmetic specialist will be able to advise you on which treatment, or combination of treatments, will be most suitable for you.
