Unwanted hair
Hair growing in places where you don't want it is embarrassing, particularly on the legs, under-arm and bikini line areas. We also treat unwanted hair on the face, nipples, stomach, back, arms and legs.
Fortunately, it can be easily removed with Intense Pulsed Light, IPL for short. We have both Ellipse and Chromolite/Aculight technology. While there are many other methods advertised, IPL is extremely effective, long-lasting and without pain.
The therapist directs a beam of high-intensity light at the hair follicles below the surface of the skin. Hair contains a substance called melanin which absorbs the light and heats up. This heat passes through the hair into the follicle at its root which is damaged so the hair’s ability to grow is drastically reduced, leaving you with permanent reduction of hair in the selected areas.
The IPL equipment can produce light in a number of different frequencies and the therapist will choose the one that is best for you, according to your hair and skin type. The selected beam of light will only damage the hair follicle while leaving your skin unaffected.
IPL beats shaving, which can be painful, produces only a temporary solution and often leaves bumps and soreness. It avoids the pain, mess and fuss of waxing, which also encourages in-growing hairs.
